SERVICES PERFORMED: Ongoing VCT Strip & Wax Services
In October of 2019, just before the outbreak of COVID-19, the Associate Administrator at The George Washington University Hospital called Scher Flooring Services (SFS) and asked us to meet with him on site. He requested that we submit a quote for a VCT Strip & Wax program that encompassed the entire hospital’s commercial flooring. His staff was not able to facilitate this work and he needed to outsource it.
This ongoing commercial flooring service would have SFS begin in the Emergency Room (ER) area and continue through PACU and then up through the remaining six floors which housed both patients and staff. When the entire building was completed, we would begin again back in the ER and repeat the process.
GWUH accepted Scher’s proposal and we commenced work in November of 2019. Since the hospital is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, SFS was required to perform our services at ANY time of the day or night. This flexibility proved imperative. In addition to the flexibility of our start times, GWUH would often change the predetermined service areas due to unexpected circumstances. COVID-19 hit the U.S. hard beginning in early 2020. Throughout the early months of the pandemic, SFS continued providing our services to the hospital. Our presence on site allowed the hospital’s staff to concentrate on many other areas of cleaning and sanitizing the facility.
Scher Flooring Services is a locally and family owned and operated commercial floor cleaning, maintenance and restoration company in business for over 25 years.
