As we celebrate 30 years of dedicated service, Scher Flooring Services is proud to reflect on the milestones that have shaped our journey from a local operation to a trusted name across the Mid-Atlantic region. Since 1995, our commitment to excellence, reliability, and innovation has earned us the confidence of some of the most respected institutions and organizations. This timeline highlights just a few of the valued partnerships and pivotal moments that have defined our legacy—and continue to inspire our future.

Four Seasons Hotel, Washington, DC

SFS operated as an extension of the hotel’s housekeeping department by taking charge of the cleaning of all the property’s carpets annually.

Boeing Co., Joint Base Andrews, MD

SFS has been maintaining carpet and upholstery cleaning on key aircraft, over six administrations operating out of Joint Base Andrews.

2001

Georgetown University, Washington, DC

Scher was awarded the contract to turnover and clean 250 campus apartments, twice a year. Services included janitorial, carpet and upholstery cleaning.

National Building Museum, Washington, DC

Scher Flooring Services cleans the 26,000 square feet of carpeting in the Great Hall using a combination of methods from truck mounted equipment to shampoo & extraction.

Sport & Health, Mid-Atlantic Region

Scher Flooring was awarded the contract to clean all carpeted areas and ceramic tiled areas within all 25 club and spa locations throughout the DC metro area. This work was done after hours.

Sunrise Senior Living, Washington, DC

SFS has performed carpet, tile and upholstery cleaning at nearly 20 locations throughout the MD, VA & DC areas for the past 18 years.

George Washington University, Washington DC

As a preferred vendor, Scher has performed both carpet and hard surface cleaning throughout the DC based campus for over a decade.

LA Fitness, Mid-Atlantic Region

Beginning in 2014, SFS has been the national fitness chain’s go-to provider in the entire DC area for all their floor coverings. SFS cleans their carpet, ceramic, slate, wood and rubber floors.

Founding Farmers, Tysons Corner, VA

The Founding Farmers Restaurant group owns 6 locations throughout the DC metro area. Scher has created an annual cleaning program for each location and continues to maintain the restaurant’s carpets and upholstery on an on-going basis.

ManTech, Washington, DC

As a leader in technology solutions, ManTech occupies over 2 million square feet of office space in the DC area. Scher has been contracted by the firm to clean both carpeting and maintain LVT flooring throughout their portfolio.

University of Maryland, Baltimore Maryland

Scher Flooring Services has been servicing the carpets at the School of Social Work for many years. SFS has recently expanded into numerous other facilities throughout the urban campus.

George Washington University Hospital, Washington, DC

When the hospital found it cost ineffective to strip and wax all their VCT flooring throughout the six-floor hospital, Scher Flooring Services was brought in to maintain these high-profile floors.

Bozzuto Management Company, Greenbelt, MD

In recent years, SFS has expanded its presence in Bozzuto’s DC area portfolio. Today, SFS is cleaning floors in numerous high-end properties in DC, MD and VA.

Summit Point Training Facility, Summit Point, WV

One of our most recent clients is the highly regarded Summit Point Training Facility, located in West Virginia. SFS will be maintaining all of the VCT throughout the 786-acre facility.
